Launching DejaSense: Smarter EV Charging with On-Site Solar
DejaBlue is introducing DejaSense, a solar optimization module that enables commercial sites to shift EV charging to align with solar production. This increases self-consumption and reduces grid energy costs.
Solar and EV charging are often disconnected
Across Europe, solar installations are becoming widespread on workplace rooftops and parking structures. At the same time, the demand for EV charging continues to grow as fleets electrify and businesses prepare for regulatory deadlines.
But on most commercial sites, these two assets, solar panels and EV chargers, operate independently. Vehicles charge immediately when they are plugged in, while solar production peaks later in the day. The result is that businesses feed excess solar back to the grid at low feed-in tariffs and pay a premium to charge vehicles from the grid.
This mismatch limits the return on investment for solar and increases the cost of electrification.
DejaSense turns solar into a smart charging advantage
DejaSense solves this problem with a simple, drop-in module that dynamically adjusts EV charging based on on-site solar production. The system uses real-time measurements and intelligent scheduling to charge vehicles when solar is abundant. There is no change to your charging hardware and no disruption to your user experience.
Whether it’s a fleet depot, a company parking lot or an airport structure, DejaSense helps you use more of the energy you generate and reduce what you take from the grid.
Easy to install and universally compatible
Plug-and-play setup: Installs next to your electrical panel in under 30 minutes. No rewiring required.
Universal compatibility: Works with all OCPP-compliant chargers and inverters.
Real-time solar sensing: Measures site production and consumption to adjust charging power dynamically.
Two user modes:
Eco Mode: Prioritizes solar energy, even if it means delaying the charge slightly.
Priority Mode: Charges immediately, using grid energy if solar is insufficient.
Already in use across France
DejaSense is already deployed at sites in France with rooftop and parking-lot solar. Common use cases include logistics hubs, workplace parking, and public access sites where vehicles remain parked for hours or even days.
On average, our customers save hundreds of euros a month on their electricity bill while using significantly more of the energy they produce on site.
Start optimizing your energy
If you’re an installer, solar developer or site manager looking to increase self-consumption and reduce operating costs, DejaSense is ready to deploy.
